Lani is a smart kitty. If she looks at me when I use the laser pointer, she won't focus on where the laser is pointing... she'll just keep an eye on the source and sometimes go for that. But I can still distract her... it just means I gotta try to outsmart her, is all. :)

ionotter sometime in August or so. Roundtrip airfare to Albany, NY during that time is around $720... more expensive than flying from the mainland to Europe. That means that when I move to the CONUS near the end of next year, I may favor trips either within the CONUS or to Canada over trips to Hawaii. Yes, I have family here but to be honest the family isn't as close as when my parents were still alive. That means that once I move, I probably won't have as strong a reason to return as I've had in the past. Perhaps the only exception would be to come back to celebrate New Year's with my brother and sister-in-law.
The August trip is extremely preliminary because it'll depend on if and whenionotter gets a job. If that doesn't go through I may do a trip elsewhere... considering I'm at 9 days of use/lose leave that I need to use up before the end of September. Fiscal Year 07 will be more interesting since I'll have to use up 30 days before the end of that year, just so I don't lose any leave. Things will get more interesting afterward, when I move.
Tomorrow I'll be doing more training for the Great Aloha Run. I'm hoping to run the 8.3-mile course in an hour and a half (yes, going at a very slow pace), so we'll see how that goes.
