Jan. 12th, 2005 10:53 am... kinda sorta, anyway.
For anyone who's interested, I'm in room 562 (at least for the moment). Also got a pretty good rental car... a maroon Chevy Impala. Still has the new-car scent to it, and it's definitely roomy. (The rental car company offered me a free upgrade to a minivan, and while it was tempting, I don't think I would have needed something THAT big...)
The flights were pretty uneventful, though I kept misplacing my stuff. :P I really hate when I put one item in one part of my computer bag, then later put it elsewhere, leaving me in a partial panic mode trying to find it. As far as I can tell, I didn't leave anything in any of the airports or on any of the planes.
I think I got really lucky too... weather was actually nice enough for me to get out of Honolulu to Maui, then to L.A., and finally to San Jose without any problems. Others, such as
ionotter, are experiencing weather-related delays. I hope that doesn't screw up their attendance at FC...
And perhaps the icing on the cake is that high-speed internet access is free for the duration of the stay, so that'll be quite welcome.
More to come...
