Stuph, various
Jan. 10th, 2005 12:53 amWent to see "Meet The Fockers" on Saturday. It was definitely amusing, though I understand reactions to that movie have been somewhat mixed. Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand make, uh, interesting parents for Ben Stiller.
Shifting gears... today (well, technically yesterday since it's half past midnight as I write this) I had planned on mowing the lawn in response to a request from my sister that I do so before I go on my trip. Thing was, though, a good soaking the night before -- from the type of weather you'd expect in the Midwest during the summer (I kid you not!) -- nixed that idea. That leaves me with Plan B, which is to mow the lawn first thing (like 7 or 8 am) Tuesday morning. (And btw, I fly out to FC Tuesday night.) Unless I hit any major snags, I should hopefully be done mowing the lawn within a couple of hours.
That change in plans for mowing the lawn -- I would have actually preferred to have done it today because it would have made my schedule easier on Tuesday, but oh well -- meant I had to do some shopping for some stuff to take up to FC today. I'll probably have to get a few more last-minute items Tuesday afternoon, so I expect to be running around pretty much all day Tuesday. Good thing that day is my first day of leave.
During the shopping trip I ran into
sithallanthis and spent a few minutes letting him know what I'd been up to. I had actually moved off-island back in September, but due to circumstances -- details are in my previous entries -- I wound up back on-island in November. And things just somehow had a way of working out so I could go to FC. Kinda weird, if you ask me...
Tomorrow (Monday) I work an admin shift then go on leave. I'm hoping to squeeze in a movie with
technocollie Monday night before I go... he hasn't seen "Ocean's 12" and I personally wouldn't mind seeing it again. Not having seen "Ocean's 11" in a while, I wouldn't be surprised if "Ocean's 12" wasn't as good... but I still thought it was worth seeing.
Not much else to add, but then again I've probably gone wala'au (diarrhea of the mouth) enough anyway in this posting, so... aloha for now!
