One week out from FC...
Jan. 5th, 2005 01:26 am... and counting...
Part of me can't wait for FC but part of me also CAN wait. Why? Because for every beginning there is (unfortunately) an end... and as Charlie Brown once said, "I hate goodbyes... I need more hellos."
It looks like I may have to get a couple of sketchbooks before the con as well since the two sketchbooks I have were shipped to the Mainland when I left in September. And right now it looks like it'll be another month or two before my stuff arrives from Nebraska. That's because my losing base didn't send my orders to JPPSO (Joint Personal Property Shipping Office), so my stuff has been stuck in Nebraska for the past month or so. However, I faxed my orders over the other day... so hopefully my stuff should be released from storage, and from there it'll probably be a month or two before it arrives.
In other news, I'm off the watchbill and will be working admin shifts beginning Thursday. The intent of my working the watchfloor was for me to get an overall feel for how things operate there, though I'm not ruling out the possibility of me later becoming a TDO (Typhoon Duty Officer) or satellite analyst.
Meantime, I've got 3 more shifts (Thursday, Friday and Monday) before I go on leave for FC. Should be a lot of fun, and it'll be nice seeing some friends again.
