Had a really weird dream Sunday night.

It was nighttime, around, say, 8 pm or so, and I was in my mom's house, when I heard what sounded like a fire alarm horn that was accompanied by a pre-recorded, looped message. In other words, the alarm was going off, and there was a recorded voice saying something on the order of, "The fire alarm has been activated. Proceed to the nearest exit immediately." I think I also remember hearing fire trucks, but oddly enough I didn't smell anything. Then again, I don't know how well the sense of smell appears in dreams, anyway.

The sound was coming from the empty lot down the street from my mom's house. By the time I was curious enough to investigate, what I saw down there was the burned-out shell of a single-story building. I think it housed a bank, but I'm not sure. And no, I don't remember the name of the bank.

Here's what one dictionary had to say about the dream:

"Dreaming of something burning indicates that you are experiencing some intense emotions and/or passionate sexual feelings. There is some situation or issue that you can no longer avoid and ignore. Alternatively, it may suggests that you need to take time off for yourself and relax."

and...

"Hearing an alarm in your dream is a warning sign: something might be going wrong in your professional life or even emotionally. Are there tensions in your relationships, have you taken the right steps, could make any efforts to make the situation improve? Undoubtedly these difficulties will be causing much anxiety, and will require an immediate action."

Taken together, I interpret the dream as that I'm dealing with issues where something may be going wrong in my professional life, some situation or issue that I can no longer avoid and ignore. It may also suggest that I need to take time off for myself. I suspect the upcoming stress of my moving, coupled with the unfavorable reviews I've received at work, are giving me enough stress that I need to take time out for myself. And I can't really do that either. I'm finding myself in the same situation that probably a lot of us do: wanting, or needing, to do a lot of stuff and just not having enough hours in the day to do that.

The dream itself did not recur last night, but I'll have to see if it recurs tonight.

Okay, I know Costco carries a lot of stuff in bulk, but this is just downright creepy:
