Saw the final Harry Potter installment last night. I'd pretty much already known what would happen to the main characters after reading the book's synopsis on wikipedia but it was still interesting to see it translate to the screen.

Without spoiling the movie, all I'll say is that part 2 has a lot more action than part 1. But then again I think it was intended to be that way, with part 1 for character development and part 2 more action/fighting.

Took [livejournal.com profile] technocollie to the ER afterward. Looks like he'll be in hospital (again) for a few days. Since his kidneys are going, his blood salts have been all over the place, plus he's dealing with anemia. His kidney and blood cell levels were hovering just above the threshold for dialysis and/or a transfusion, but I suspect his hospital stays will be more frequent, and/or he'll be starting dialysis within the next few months, until he can get a kidney.

Was going to visit but I think I'm coming down with something myself. Been having a slight sore throat the past few days and a general run-down feeling yesterday and today. Yesterday it wasn't enough to keep me from seeing the movie but today I'm probably going to rest most of the day. I think a really hectic work and personal schedule has kept me (literally) running myself into the ground to where I finally got sick after getting off three 12-hour work shifts over the weekend. I have a break until tomorrow night, then another break Friday through Saturday, help out with church Sunday, then next week busy with either Guard stuff or work for seven days straight. In between I'm going to try to keep up with PT but probably going to wait until I feel better first.

Next month I'm going to try to slow things down a bit as my work schedule permits. We'll see how things go.

Came home after taking [livejournal.com profile] technocollie to the ER last night and found Lani stuck between the jalousie window and the screen on the other side. Apparently she pried the panes open, squeezed through and the panes slammed shut behind her. Heard panicky repeated meowing when I came home, and saw her behind the window panes. I had to remove one of the slats so she could get out.

Oh, and did I mention this has happened before?
