Couple new things to post about...
Took a test as part of my AF PME (professional military education) and passed with flying colors. The specific PME that I'm taking is structured in 7 blocks and I've now completed 3 of them. I have until February 2011 to finish the remaining four, so needless to say my work is cut out for me.
Also ended up ordering one of these. Yes, I'm trading in the hybrid SUV for it. There were a variety of reasons, the biggest one being that GM service just plain sucks even though the vehicle is fairly decent. The replacement is roomier inside (though not so much in the third row) and has quite a bit of bells and whistles. Mileage is likely to suffer though, at least until/if a hybrid version comes out. For now I plan to at least lease it so I have more flexibility at the end of the lease. Overall it looks like this move means that both my monthly payments AND my insurance payments will be less but I'll be making up that difference in fuel depending on how much time I spend stuck in traffic. It doesn't help that Hawaii is among the worst states in the U.S. for traffic, if not THE worst.
The new vehicle is due in September so I'll post more about it when it arrives.
Oh, and by the way, San Jose International Airport has undergone a few changes. Check it out.
