UPS go bye-bye
Mar. 25th, 2010 06:11 pmThe UPS began acting up last night to where it would randomly flash "overload" and emit a constant beeping (this after months of powering everything that was plugged into it without complaining). I also noticed at the same time that the windoze laptop's battery would not charge properly. So... that meant ordering a replacement battery (I determined that it wasn't the power supply because I had the same result when I used another power supply) and going out and buying another UPS.
The laptop's battery was out of warranty, so I couldn't call tech support to get it replaced. That and the power supply are the two items that didn't come with the extended warranty for the other hardware components in the laptop.
I'm still keeping the old UPS for now, just not plugging it in anywhere. It's serving as a stool/table for the new UPS.

Mar. 25th, 2010 06:52 pmCorrect me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that even if you don't like or disagree with the current President, and you are active duty military, you are still legally (aka UCMJ) bound to support him. This coming from a general officer is risky business, if you ask me.
FWIW, I was never a big fan of George W. Bush's policies, but I still would have publicly and officially (on-the-record) supported him. Off-the-record might have been another story.
