House Bill 444 stalls in committee

House Bill 444 is the bill that would have provided legal recognition for civil unions (aka same-sex marriages).

While I myself did not support the bill (nor would I have supported one banning it), I will neither celebrate nor protest regardless of the outcome of the bill. Being unmarried, I myself have nothing at stake from the outcome, and as such I refuse to take sides.

I will say one thing though... if I did have something at stake, or had to take sides, I don't know which side I would pick, but it would not be a decision made lightly.
