And no, the neurotic kitty isn't me. I'll explain in a bit.

First, I saw "Aliens vs Predator: Requiem" last night. Considering I had never seen any of the Alien or Predator movies or played any of the video games, and only vaguely remember "Blade Runner," I had to take [livejournal.com profile] technocollie's comments at face value... namely, that this one ties together all of the "Alien" and "Predator" movies (and video games) as well as the "Blade Runner" universe.

Without spoiling the movie, I would say it's probably a safe bet that there won't be an "Aliens^3 vs Predator" unless they can somehow still bridge all of the movies.

At 1.5 hours long, "AVP-R" is a good sci-fi/action movie, though I'm not sure if it's been overhyped. I still expect it to do well at the box office, and will probably knock "National Treasure" out of the top spot. My predictions for this coming weekend's box office take are:

1. AVP-R
2. National Treasure
3. I Am Legend (The Water Horse)
4. The Water Horse (I Am Legend)
5. Alvin & The Chipmunks

Supposedly "The Water Horse" may have been overhyped, and I've heard it isn't all that great, but I figure it'll either pull in #3 or #4, and will definitely push "Alvin" to #5.

We'll see how good a movie prognosticator I am.

Switching gears... about the "neurotic kitty" bit... well, it refers mainly to Lani. I think she's deathly afraid of heavy rain. Twice already I've been in the house with her when it's started pouring heavily (no thunder, just heavy rain) and she got very skittish, running into the room, jumping on the bed and bolting out of the room despite my efforts to calm her down. Plus, the one night that I was working and we had severe weather (strong, gusty winds up to 60mph+, heavy rain and lightning) she threw up twice. She normally doesn't do that, and hasn't done it since, so my guess is that she was terrified from all the weather.

As I write this, kitty is somewhere hiding in the house, but I'm not sure where she's gone. Lately she's taken to hiding under the bed. I suppose she feels safe down there.
