Sep. 2nd, 2006 01:36 amWent to see "Little Miss Sunshine" today (actually, yesterday/Friday as I write this).
My reaction: ehh... s'awright. Nothing spectacular, though there were parts that were just plain wrong. This was one film that I felt kinda wasted my time and $$$, though not enough for me to leave the theater demanding a refund.
However, I'm not likely to see this one again.
I'm a bit surprised that Yahoo reviewers and viewers both gave Sunshine a really good rating (B+). By contrast, critics gave Beerfest (which I thought was better) a C and Yahoo users gave it a B-.
In other news, Tale Spin and Darkwing Duck got their first DVD releases on Tuesday, so I picked up a copy of each. It's really too bad they don't make 'toons like this anymore. I think the late 80s to early 90s were Disney's best 'toon times. That's when we got such shows as Gummi Bears, DuckTales, Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers, Tale Spin, Darkwing Duck and Gargoyles. Other shows like Bonkers and Goof Troop, unfortunately, weren't as good (IMHO). On the non-Disney side, the mid-90s graced us with such shows as Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Taz-Mania, Mighty Max and SWAT Kats (you knew I was going for an SK plug didn't you? :)
I used to be a major cartoonaholic. Nowadays, though, most of my TV viewing is either M*A*S*H or the stuff on TLC, Discovery or the local news.
