Went to see this NASCAR spoof movie tonight.

I'm not even going to try to describe it -- and no, no spoilers either -- but it was a lot of fun and so much over-the-top that so much of it is just plain wrong.  :)
Perhaps the best way I can think of this is to not think of it as a good movie, but simply a messed-up one.  Plotwise, the movie was okay... but it's filled with varying gags that I'm not going to even describe.  All I'll say, though, is that the gags they show in the previews don't do it justice.  :)

If you want mind candy, and a popcorn/soda movie, Talladega Nights is it.  But don't see it if you're looking for something intellectual or profound.

Switching gears... I came home tonight to a deja vu scene.  Lani was trapped again behind both sets of jalousies, between the jalousie windows and the screen (like I said in an earlier entry, there's an approximately 4" space between the two).  It had been raining, too, and I think poor Lani may have been soaked, though her fur was just barely damp by the time I came home and let her out of her prison.  It seems as though when it's windy outside, as it was the past couple of days, it's easier for the jalousie windows to slam shut when kitty has squeezed in between the windows and screen to get a better view of the outside.

I think Lani is glad that I was able to come home and get her out, but I can only guess at how long she must have been trapped there... it would have been at most 5 to 6 hours, but it could have been only as much as an hour... hard to say.  I left the house after 6pm, so it would have been after her automatic feeder triggered... but I didn't return until around 12:30 this morning.

In any case, Lani doesn't seem the worse for wear, and perhaps helps illustrate just how resilient kitties can be.  :)

For those who've been asking me for more pix of Lani, ask and you shall receive  :)

I keep this pic of Lani in my wallet. I think her tail is curled around her right side in this pic so you can't see it here.

An alert Lani looks toward the door for something. She usually looks like this when she's about ready to pounce something.

This is usually how Lani greets me when I come home. She meows at me a few times, then rubs against something near the ground, then flops down on her side and rolls over. I think this usually means she wants to play.
