FC, Day One
Jan. 19th, 2006 04:14 pmI'm writing this from the hotel lobby.... mostly just hanging out and taking it easy while waiting for con registration to start. The delay is apparently because eBay, which had a convention just before us, has been slow to clear out.
Yesterday's flight over was uneventful but I ended up doing the insane thing and paid $275 to upgrade to first class. I'm still not sure why I did it but I think it was because I wanted to try it at least once on a mainland trip. And I also think I wanted to pamper myself a bit because I normally don't indulge myself.
I also got a rental car which got upgraded to a minivan for the same rate that I'd have gotten for a much smaller car... but I think whatever budget I may have had for FC is pretty much shot. But if I have fun it'll be all worth it.
For anyone who reads this that's at the con, I'm in room 128. :)
More later... the nokia 770 is proving to be well worth the cost, and perhaps the scary thing is that I'm starting to get pretty good at using the tap keyboard. :)
