Apr. 11th, 2004 12:13 amChecked out a local swap meet today, got a pretty cool pair of binoculars (which will end up being a spare, more than likely, since I know I've got another pair somewhere). Also got to check out a bookstore and get a nice, full-color map.
Then it was off to Haleiwa Joe's for dinner... what ended up being pretty much a full slab of prime rib. The price was a bit steep (around $30) but for the place it was worth it. Not that I'll be going there for dinner on a regular basis, mind you... I can only do so much.
After that it was a quick dessert stop at Bubbies for ice cream, then a stop at Daiei, and finally a stop at the Hickam Federal Credit Union to withdraw some fund-age.... except there was a problem with the amount of $$$ I wanted to withdraw.
Normally I can withdraw $400 at a time from the ATM, but when I tried it tonight it said "You have reached your maximum withdrawal limit" and promptly rejected the transaction. I tried again with $300. Still no good. Finally I tried it with $200, and the machine finally dispensed my money. However, the ATM must have been completely out of ink because all three times I got an ATM receipt, the receipt was blank.
Tried logging in to my bank online. Guess what? The online service was down due to "scheduled maintenance". I tried calling the 1-800 customer service number on the back of my bank card, and that was also down due to scheduled maintenance. So now here I am, with a minimum 3-hour wait to find out if someone might have stolen my identity and siphoned everything except $200 from my bank account (when I HAD more than that at one point).
I'm hoping that the scheduled maintenance downtime is what limited the amount of my withdrawal transaction and not something else... otherwise I will NOT be a happy camper. I definitely didn't need this at the end of the week, especially since now it's Easter and I don't want to be in this kind of mood.
Stay tuned to this space for updates.....
