Jul. 1st, 2003 11:13 pmHad a rather odd dream last night... I dreamt that a friend had found several stray cats and kittens, all fairly light (no more than 4 or 5 pounds at the most). One was nursing a couple of kittens. The strange part was that he decided to keep them all in my apartment.
Normally, I'd enjoy the feline companions... as you can probably tell from the LJ pic at the top, I like cats. But in this case I was quite upset. Why?
There's a slight problem with the scenario and my apartment lease. Basically I'm not allowed to keep pets, with the exception of fish, in the apartment. Not only that, but (as I'm sure others will attest!) I have a hard enough time taking care of myself as it is. I really wouldn't be able to take care of a pet on top of that.
The rest of the dream was, if I remember correctly, finding new homes for the cats and making sure they were hidden from the landlord.
Fortunately it was all a dream... the only cats I have in the apartment are either the plush toys or a couple of pix of some cats I grew up with. And, at least for the time being, I intend to keep it that way.
Of course, I'll still play with kittens and cats at the pet shops, or at the Humane Society. But I'm not ready to be a responsible cat owner just yet....
