... and different stuffs to talk about too.
First, some breaking news of sorts: I usually don't follow sports, but I've been following UH football off and on this year because they've had such a good season. Unfortunately, UH is now losing its coach, June Jones, who is leaving to take over a football coaching job at Southern Methodist University. I know the UH community will miss Jones, but I wish him the best of luck. I probably won't be following UH athletics all that closely anymore... whoever they get to replace June Jones is gonna have some pretty big shoes to fill.
Second, I've been pondering getting a car to replace the Infiniti M45, which was damaged in a rear-end collision a couple months ago. This time I'm looking at an SUV, mostly because of its cargo capacity. I've actually been looking at SUV-types for a while but haven't taken the leap yet because their gas mileage isn't very good. But considering I don't plan on using the SUV as more than a weekender-type vehicle, I can probably live with the gas price hit.
Last night I saw Charlie Wilson's War, based on the true story of Charlie Wilson, who did what he could to cut through bureaucratic BS to help Afghanis defeat the Soviets. Unfortunately, we did not finish the job. That seems to have been the state of our political arenas lately... we go in to get one mission done but we don't clean up after ourselves. That in turn causes more and worse problems.
A little under 2 weeks from FC and counting. I was originally going to rent a full-size sedan but upped it to a minivan this time. And yes, I don't mind playing chauffeur as long as I'm not physically out of it...
