Post-election stuph

Phew... things seem to be finally dying down (somewhat) from the election. Both sides are griping about the results (conservatives crying foul, liberals saying it's a done deal, let it rest)... but I'm not going to comment on the election since I have a bigger issue I want to post about. Yes, it will be a rant, and it will be political, but it won't be about any of the national/federal elections. The last time I ranted about something national, two people unfriended me, so I'm not going to make that mistake again.

Instead, this rant will be about a local issue. The rest is hidden behind a lj-cut tag so you don't have to read it if you don't want to.
