I have a feeling this is a post that all my liberal friends are gonna pounce on, but not for the reason(s) you might think.
Unless you've been living in a cave the past few days, you probably know that Mitt Romney chose Paul Ryan as his running mate. Whether or not this guarantees Obama another term, well... we'll just have to see what happens in November.
But... after seeing what's been happening over the past few days, and following some conversations on Facebook, I've come to one main conclusion:
In good faith, and conscience, I simply cannot endorse a Romney-Ryan ticket. The big reason is that I see no evidence that tells me that the super-rich -- those making more than $200k+ a year -- won't be the only ones to benefit if an R^2 ticket wins the White House in November.
I'm sure my conservative friends on FB would give me a laundry list as to why R^2 is better than Obama, but here's the way I see it: I think they're so desperate to see some kind of change, some kind of improvement over Obama, that they're going to settle for anything they can.
Still don't know yet who I plan to vote for in November. But it may come down to supporting the incumbents (even if not wholeheartedly). If we're gonna go downhill, I'd rather it be a gradual decline than off a cliff, which is what I see with the Republican ticket.
