The Tiger... or the Tiger?
May. 23rd, 2012 08:31 pmSubject line is a take on "The Lady or the Tiger."
Mostly refers to the upcoming Presidential election in November. I'm still torn between who I should vote for, and let me tell you why:
Conservatives (of whom I'd say some 90 percent of my Facebook friends are) would probably say that unless you want the national debt to go to "infinity and beyond," do NOT vote for Obama, vote for Romney.
Liberals (of whom I'd say some 90 percent of my LiveJournal friends are) would probably say that unless you want the country run completely into the ground (and then some), akin to hitting rock bottom and still digging, do NOT vote for Romney, vote for Obama.
That leaves moderates (of which I consider myself one) somewhere in the middle.
On one hand, I think Obama could have probably done more than he did to help the U.S., although he probably did try his best. OTOH, I'm not sold on Romney. From what I can tell, he had a very dismal track record in Massachusetts, and if that happens to be any indicator of what he'll be like in office, I don't think he'll be of much help either.
Oh, and one other thing?
I don't exactly want to vote myself out of a job, but I think regardless of who wins, we'll see more budget cuts in the government, especially with the DoD (where I work), and I wouldn't be surprised if my job got cut down the road. And if that happens, well... I'm not going to do much leisure traveling, for one thing. Another option would be to relocate to the U.S. mainland, though I don't know where I'd end up. Ideally, I'd like to end up near Silicon Valley, but no telling what'll eventually be the case.
