Mar. 6th, 2012 10:54 pmThe past two days have been nothing if not eventful.
Yesterday I called
ionotter and am planning to send a care package of sorts to him. I'm hoping I can get it out on Friday so he gets it when he gets back, but it depends on my schedule.
Was fairly busy running around yesterday and today helping
technocollie with an eye doctor appointment, then dialysis, then an emergency eye doctor appointment this morning which resulted in outpatient surgery this afternoon. He's at home recovering as I type this, but he has very blurry vision right now.... meaning he probably won't respond to text, but he'll respond to voice.
Oh, and did I mention we got big-time dumped on weather wise? Heavy rain, lightning, gusty winds, and hail in some places on Oahu. My sleep schedule has been disrupted the past couple of days by some really impressive lightning and thunder displays, but things have finally calmed down tonight so I should be able now to actually get some sleep. Not to mention Lani has been pretty distraught too, I'm sure. She doesn't like sudden, loud noises (aka thunder), and she even hates heavy rain.
In fact, when it started thundering last night, I put on some headphones and tried to drown out the rain and thunder with music so I could at least attempt to get some sleep. For the most part, it worked since the only indicator I had that everything had stopped was Lani. She was on the bed when the first crack of thunder hit, and she took off like a shot hiding somewhere in the house. A few hours later, she was back on the bed, and as I figured the weather had calmed down again.
After cleaning Lani's litterbox today I started kicking around the idea of getting one of these for her since I can't always get to the litterbox. Since Amazon Prime offers free standard shipping it may be worth it. It should cut down on most of the litter ending up outside the litterbox, too. One of my co-workers has one and recommends it, so I may just give it a shot.
