On Tuesday I came home and found Lani stuck between the jalousie window and window screen. Again. This time, though, she managed to get back out because the top slats were partially open and she was able to jump up and squeeze between the open slats.

So it seems as though the "stuck kitty" bit isn't all that it seems. Now if both the upper and lower set of slats are closed, then yeah, she'll need help getting out. But otherwise she should be able to take care of herself. Note the "should" in that last sentence.

In other news, the past couple of days I've been coming home, checking some stuff on the net, and zonking out until the alarm wakes me up the next day. Wednesday night I got up (briefly) a couple of times. Last night I slept straight through until the alarm woke me up (as far as I can tell). Yes, it means I skipped dinner... sleep was evidently much more important.

I used to be able to get by on four hours or less of sleep a night. Damn I'm getting old.

Writer's Block: Parlez-vous francais?

[Error: unknown template qotd]

I took Japanese through level 5 in high school and up to level 302 in college... meaning I can speak and read enough to get by. Hiragana and katakana are easy... kanji always throws me for a loop.

Oh, and if you count Hawaiian pidgin, I'm pretty fluent in that. ;)

Other languages that I'd like to learn are Arabic/Farsi, Korean and Chinese, mostly because it's possible to get additional pay for knowing those languages (don't know how well it would apply to me necessarily). You don't necessarily have to be fluent... The extra amount you get depends on how much you know.
