Had an unexpected expense this month... replacing all four tires on the Genesis. At roughly $200/tire (since they're sport-type tires, the same type that came with the car) that amounted to $800 for all four (didn't change the spare). I could have changed to something cheaper but if I did, the car's handling would have changed. Significantly. So I decided to stick with the same type of tires that came with the car. I'm willing to cut corners on costs, but not at the expense of possibly losing control of the car.

On the plus side, I was able to change one of the Hyundai's fog lamps myself although I had to get the part from the dealer (H8 fog lamps aren't very common, apparently). The job turned out to be a lot easier than I had thought... unscrew and pull off the rubber skid plate section (3 screws), remove the wiring harness, twist and pull out the old bulb, insert and twist the new bulb, replace the wiring harness, and put everything back together. Not bad, saved myself some $40 or so... and the new bulb works flawlessly.

Unfortunately, replacing the tires ate up my going-out/movies/friends budget for the rest of this month, as well as the next couple months or so. C'est la vie...
