Hoo boy, I think I'm gonna open a can of worms with this one.
In short, yes. It hasn't been as much avoiding going out with friends as it has been not being able to attend family events, such as weddings or funerals. It's harder for me to attend now that both my parents are deceased, especially since I'm not married. The handy-dandy excuse I use most often is work. Since I work shift, I'm often not available on weekends, which is when most of the events occur.
With friends, it's a different story. I don't mind going out for the most part, but there are times I'd rather not go out depending on my mood and the potential drama involved. Because nowadays we don't go out as much, I'm less likely to turn down an offer to go out.
