A few days ago I was reading this article on ways you can tell if your cat loves you. I'm pretty sure Lani loves me because I can go down the list of how she reacts:

• Waiting at the door when I come home. In fact, I have to be very careful when I open the door because I don't want to hit her in the face. It's also not uncommon for me to come home and hear meowing outside the door.
  
• Following me from room to room. Yep, this includes the litterbox. She doesn't always stay, running in and out quite a bit of the time. But if I'm in the living room she tends to stay there. Ditto for the bedroom.
  
• Adjusting to my schedule. For the most part that's true. Lani has often curled up with or near me when I'm taking a nap regardless of the time of day. Even more telling is that she does it when I'm on shift and my sleep/wake cycle isn't always consistent.
  
• Rubbing up against me. Actually, not only does Lani do this but so does Typhoon, the cat I see at work. I don't know if Lani has gotten jealous yet... if she has, I haven't really noticed.

Today I received a thank-you email from evil_dwagon's mom. Unfortunately I will not be at AC this year but I'll bet any memorial service planned will probably be packed.

Sometime this summer (probably around July) I may be heading up to Wisconsin for an Air National Guard exercise. No details yet, and no clue if or when I'll be free. I may try to take a pawful of days leave in the Los Angeles area, however. Watch this space for details.
