A pawful of odds and ends...

Yesterday I met up with carson10us at the NEX. It was a brief meeting, owing to the fact that he had to take care of a work-related issue and I was zoning in and out that afternoon, having been up since 5 am that day. (I later got some 4 hours of sleep after I got back home.)

I also posted this entry in the Further Confusion community. Looks like I got a pawful of nibbles from furs who plan to stop by in the Aloha State at some point over the next few months. I'm not much of an outgoing fur, to be honest, but I also won't pass up an opportunity to hang out with any visiting fur either... so if you'll be on Oahu, lemme know...

Saw "Coraline" in 3-D on Saturday. It does well in 3-D, though I think the movie isn't quite as good as if you see it in 2-D. Still, the movie is enjoyable and perhaps even a bit disturbing (if you see it, you'll probably know what I mean).

Tonight at work the TV was tuned to Animal Planet and there was a show about dogs and incarcerated prisoners. Basically, the dogs would be generally unadoptable for varying reasons and paired with convicts. The show highlighted success stories, where working and bonding with a dog (or puppy) was a positive experience for both animal and human.

That got me thinking about how much of an influence a pet can have on our lives. Pets not only teach you responsibility, they also teach you love and patience. (At least I know Lani does.) And at least in my case, there's something to be said for curling up with a contented, purring kitty snuggled up against you.
