Nov. 1st, 2008 08:53 amI sent in my absentee voting ballot yesterday. I'm not yet going to release who or what I voted for, and even then I'm only going to discuss the major issues and candidates. I will say that I ended up leaving the ballot blank for all the OHA candidates because I honestly don't feel qualified enough, nor do I know enough about the candidates (other than the Honolulu Advertiser's and Honolulu Star-Bulletin's Election Guides) to really make a good choice.
Picked up the Sprint Touch Pro yesterday. It was released this week after a one-week delay to ensure that all the stores had enough stock... but the units apparently completely sold out of at least one store the day they arrived. It's a rather sweet phone, if you ask me... combines the touch-sensitive pad of the iPhone with a sliding keyboard. And yes, the keyboard makes a difference, especially if you send text messages or read email online (which I do)... the on-screen one doesn't do it justice.
Also saw a Wii Fit at the Best Buy last night and decided to pick it up... mostly because it's been hard to find. And given that I haven't been exercising regularly since I left active duty, I probably should get back into doing so... especially with cardiovascular workouts. I've been hearing that the Wii Fit helps you work up a pretty good sweat, so we'll see how that works out.
Halloween was.... uneventful. Went out with a couple of friends for lunch and dinner. Of course I was the only one in the group with any money, for the most part, so everyone ended up mooching off me. For now I can live with it, but I do not intend to make this a habit. Seriously. If next month, when I'm pondering upgrading cars (yet again!), this time from the Tahoe Hybrid to an Escalade Hybrid, I'm going to start saying "no" to requests to borrow money a LOT more often. As it is, I have no plans to drive myself into bankruptcy just because someone else wants more toys... :p
