(no subject)
Jun. 9th, 2008 08:38 amSaw "Kung Fu Panda" and "Zohan" this past weekend. Comments on each follow (no spoilers, hopefully):
"Kung Fu Panda" is one that doesn't seem that great from the previews, but is actually pretty good. It's got good animation, a decent storyline and keeps both kids and adults entertained. If you get the chance to see this in digital, I'd say definitely see it in digital. I think it's even showing in IMAX in some places, and I can only imagine what it must be like in IMAX. (We haven't had an IMAX theater here for some time now, and no, the Mormon one doesn't count. :P)
"Zohan" is about as messed up and non-PC as you can get. I have to give Adam Sandler props for this one because this one treats what could be a very sensitive subject with humor... and I think he gets away with what he does by pretty much lambasting everyone. :)
Next one I want to see is "Get Smart". There's a new PSA running based on a scene from the movie that basically asks you to keep your phone turned off during the movie. It's too bad Don Adams passed away in 2005, as he probably would have been good for a cameo in the movie. But who knows... there might be a Don Adams reference somewhere, we just don't know it yet. :)
This past weekend was a HIANG drill weekend so I was busy Saturday and yesterday, though a couple of the other guys had done much of the legwork this past week so we ended up doing only some minor training. We also did some PT at the track Sunday.
A couple of mid-year's resolutions I plan to get cracking on are to get back into a regular workout program, starting this week, and to actually begin cleaning up my place (starting with my room). If I'm lucky, I should have at least part of it clean before the trip, but we'll see how it goes.
