Further Confusion 2008 is now officially history, and the only thing left now is the trip back home.

I was lucky enough to escape con crud this year (so far, anyway!) despite temperatures dropping down to near freezing and rain most of the weekend. And I had a lot of fun, attempted to be more social this time, and met up with several furs, some on the last day. To those who I missed, my apologies and hopefully I'll see you next year since I fully intend to come back next year!

LJ furiends that I met this con (as far as I know):

Also apologies to those who I wasn't able to say aloha to at the end of the con for one reason or another, but I hope everyone who attended enjoyed the con, those who checked out my DJ'ing on the second floor mezzanine Friday night enjoyed that as well, and those who were at the Wolf Valley SL party on Saturday enjoyed it too!

Take care and aloooooo-ha! :)

Back home

Back home today after a relatively uneventful flight. The day before, however, wasn't as much fun.

A few of us headed north to Sausalito, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge in the process. That trip turned out to be uneventful, and even pleasant, even when we encountered some traffic crossing the Bay Bridge back into San Francisco. The mistake came up, however, when we attempted to head down the 101 Freeway South.

Traffic had backed up significantly before the one exit (CA-92E/CA-92W) that traffic was being diverted to because of a jackknifed gasoline tanker. That resulted in the entire freeway being shut down overnight in both directions while crews cleaned up the mess and stuck us in the San Mateo area for a couple of hours. When we got back on the road again, it still took us some two hours to get back to San Jose. That in turn cascaded into having only two hours of sleep prior to leaving for the airport this morning, getting about an hour's or so worth of sleep on the plane, and spending most of the afternoon sleeping.

And yes, Lani had apparently missed me quite terribly, enough to where she kept jumping on the bed to make sure I wouldn't leave her again. :)

In any case, it's good to be back home, and this, the 10th year of Further Confusion, was definitely one to remember. Kudos to all those who helped make it a fun and enjoyable con, and hope to see everyone again next year!
