FC Update, Take Three
Jan. 22nd, 2008 12:19 amA little over 36 hours away from flying out to FC and counting.
Hopefully Lani won't miss me too much when I'm gone. I asked my sister to help take care of her. Fortunately Lani's needs are very little... as long as she has enough water and her litter is changed regularly, she should be good to go. I plan to fill her food dish with cat food, and it's an automatic feeder, so it'll help make sure she stays well-fed while I'm away.
It seems as though Lani has had bouts of separation anxiety when I'm out of the house. While she hasn't destroyed stuff (at least as far as I can tell, considering my place looks like a tornado hit it), she starts crying as soon as she either hears me outside or in the hallway. The meowing continues as I make my way to the bedroom, where she jumps on the bed and rubs against everything in sight. She's also taken to curling up near my waist when I sleep, when she has normally slept at the foot of the bed. And personally, I'd much rather have her closer to my head than my feet anyway. Unless kitty wants to start pouncing, in which case I tend to relocate her quite rapidly.

technocollie wasn't going to FC, now it's a question mark but possibly leaning toward "yes". I'm not going to stick out my neck any further one way or the other. For those that go to FC, you'll know if he makes it or not.
Did some packing earlier tonight. One of the items that I packed is a Japanese yukata, which my parents got for me when they went to Japan (I think it was in 1994 or so, but I don't remember exactly when they went). I was living in L.A. at the time and vaguely recall flying back for a monthlong visit before the trip, then another visit afterward, but I don't remember if I actually did that or if it was a figment of my imagination.
In any case, the yukata should be a pretty kewl wardrobe addition considering FC08's theme. But given how potentially fragile it is, I probably won't be wearing it a whole lot.
That's it for now. Time to sign off and get some rest!
