Coming up on 6 years....

In one week from Tuesday it'll be six years since the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center were attacked. What makes this year a bit more "chicken skin" than previous years is that this year the day of the week also matches up.

September 11, 2001 was a Tuesday, and September 11, 2007 will also be a Tuesday.

Do you know/remember where you were when September 11, 2001 happened?

In my case, I had just moved into an apartment downtown and had my stuff delivered. I remember receiving a phone call around 6 am that morning saying that I needed to report in to work ASAP. (I was providing weather support to the US Army, Pacific (USARPAC) headquarters at Ft Shafter back then.) I didn't even know if I had to prepare anything for a weather briefing and was hoping to get additional information. Of course, none of that could be released over the phone.

When I got in, I saw news footage of what happened and understood why I had been called in. Little did I know what would follow as a result.

On a side note, I was trying to remember if ionotter had seen or been in the apartment when that day happened, but from what I remember he was in Norfolk, VA at the time.
