Gave Lani a flea treatment today (Advantage seems to work pretty well). Only thing is, I don't think she likes it because the treatment is a topical application and I think she tastes it within a few seconds of it being applied. The product label says that it's bitter tasting and that salivation may occur if the cat licks off the product, which is why I've been trying to apply it to the base of her skull as the instructions say.

This time, I applied it a bit higher... to the back of her skull instead of the base. Gives her less of an opportunity to lick it off and hopefully gives the product more of a chance to work.

The flea treatment wouldn't be so bad if Lani would just hold still until I finish, but I only manage to get about 2/3 to 3/4 of the product on her before she feels/tastes it and bolts. She doesn't attack... just runs away. The attacks happen when I try to trim her claws, but that's another story.

In yet other news, I'm still a bit sore in my neck and right shoulder blade. But I'm starting to feel well enough to begin working out again, though I just have to be careful not to raise my arms above roughly shoulder level... or I get a slight twinge of pain. And the pain is still worst just after I get up, but subsides pretty rapidly afterward.
