Jun. 21st, 2007 06:48 pmI've definitely seen better days than today. Emotionally, I'm fine. Physically, my lower neck and upper back are killing me.
Around lunchtime, I was trying to open a bottle of soda (that apparently had been hermetically sealed :P) when I suddenly felt as though someone had stabbed me in my right shoulder blade. That pain then radiated to the neck and between the shoulder blades and stayed there, and got progressively worse unless I stayed perfectly still. It was severe enough that I had to go to the ER. Naturally, what was going through my mind was something on the order of, "WTF?! This happened from just trying to open a soda bottle?!"
This was the first time I had something like this happen to me.
At the hospital, I was diagnosed with a back strain/back spasm and put on a painkiller (prescription version of Aleve) and a muscle relaxant. I went home and took a nap, and so far the pain has varied. When I got up, I could hardly move. Now, I have some mobility but it still hurts a bit.
Hopefully this will clear up tomorrow; if not, I'm staying home from work. If I can drive, though, I'll probably at least go to the Hickam clinic for a followup visit.
