FC07 Wrapup
Jan. 24th, 2007 02:52 pmI'm still in the San Jose (actually, Milpitas) area as I type this entry, but the FC07 part of my trip is over.
The past few days were a lot of fun, including the variety show. I think this year I'll actually see if I can snag a copy of the highlights DVD when it comes out (I've never gotten one in the past, but this year I didn't catch a lot of the events).
Monday saw several furs heading out. I ended up snoozing most of the day, skipping lunch and going out to eat with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
technocollie and spudsmccat for dinner. We hit an Old Spaghetti Factory restaurant, similar to (but not the same as) the one at Ward Warehouse. Then it was back to the hotel for the Dead Dog party... which finished around midnight, but we ended up talking story with several furs. technocollie got to meet aeto... someone he said that brombear and ionotter were sorta trying to get him to meet but never materialized... until this trip. Apparently the way the puppy knew Aeto was from an incident where a certain otter left a certain deposit in his car....
Tuesday was a day of packing and checking out, then hanging out in the lobby with a pawful of residual furs. Picked up a couple of stray furs and dragged them over to the hotel in Milpitas, then went and got some food.
This morning I dropped offtechnocollie at the airport. As far as I can tell he made it safely home. I've still got a stray fur in the room for a day or two, until I fly out on Friday.
Switching gears... the auto-pay deal from my USAA bank account to Honda Financial for leasing the TSX is pissing me off big-time. It's the second time in four months that the auto-pay has not gone through, and I'm already planning to have USAA pay the bill from that end rather than try to set it up through the Honda Financial web site. The web site says that it's okay, but then nothing pays, and I go a month and a half before I get a nastygram saying that my account is past due. And most times I don't get a chance to go through my mail in a timely manner (yeah, that's my fault) so the first indication that I'm in serious credit rating trouble is when I get a phone call saying to please call back at my earliest convenience.
It's not that I don't have money to pay my loans, mind you. It's when they DON'T auto-pay when they should, even though I set it up a certain way, that pisses me off. And the auto-pay glitch is happening ONLY with the Honda Financial account, which leads me to not want to trust that site for automatic payments.
Anyway, rant mode off for now. Going to get a bit of sleep then scrounge up some food or something.
For any furs in the San Jose area.... I think there's a weekly fur-gathering at University Chicken on Thursdays? Can anyone confirm or deny this? Last year I checked it out on the day just before I flew back, and wanted to see if anyone else knew/knows about this....
