All Kine Stuffs

Bought a couple items for my furry feline friend... one is a water fountain of sorts that circulates water.  My goal in getting it was to encourage Lani to drink from the fountain instead of the toilet or bathtub (she's been favoring the bathtub because I keep the lid closed on the toilet).  I also bought an automatic feeder, which serves a more practical purpose... it helps make sure Lani is fed on a regular schedule, and measured quantities help make sure she doesn't get fat.  At least in theory, anyway.....

I also visited technocollie in the hospital tonight.  Last night he went to the ER for appendicitis... fortunately the surgeon got to it before it ruptured.  But his symptoms were very atypical... it started off on Friday with a pain in his solar plexus region, then migrated to become back pain.  Supposedly because of his diabetes the pain, which should have been in the lower abdomen, was referred to his back.  Last night he called me asking for a ride to the ER, but unfortunately I was at Costco Iwilei so he declined.  I later found out that he had driven himself to the hospital.

But at least now he's recovering, though tonight he was in a bit of pain where the incision was made.  He told me it'll probably take about a week for him to recover.   And given that his brother flies back to the Mainland next week and he'll likely be taking care of his grandma full-time once he gets back home.... I'd say that "no playing with the puppy" is a safe bet.  And no, don't ask me to elaborate.  :P

At least now I have Second Life and Lani to both keep me company during my spare time.
