Dec. 15th, 2005 08:17 pmThe work week is almost over, and I'm looking forward to the weekend. Not because it was a rough week... actually, it turned out to be fairly productive. But this season has been quite busy for me, and I'm looking forward to at least a little bit of R&R.
I stress the word "little" because tomorrow night I'm helping with my church's Christmas play, then helping with the weekend services all weekend. Last night I helped with a service as well, which made for a long day that began with morning PT at 0630. I didn't get home until almost 2200 (aka 10pm). But I honestly have no qualms about giving my time to my church like that. I feel that it rejuvenates/restores me and that I'm giving what I currently consider my most valuable asset right now... time.
Next weekend is shaping up to be fairly busy, though I do get the Friday before Christmas off (as well as the Friday before New Year's). But my understanding is that the Mondays right after both holidays will be work days unless I hear otherwise... though that could mean good traffic on those days because everyone else will be observing the holidays then. I'm already helping at my church on Christmas Eve and planning to spend New Year's Eve at my brother's place. But this year I really don't feel like doing much on either Christmas or New Year's, except perhaps spending them with family. A friend invited me to a Christmas party at his grandma's place, but I'm seriously considering passing partly because I work the next day. And while he hasn't said anything yet, his family will probably also be doing something for New Year's itself, but I will probably pass on that too.
Not that I'm trying to isolate myself or anything... I just want to take it easy, and it turns out those days are almost prime candidates for doing so since both Christmas and New Year's fall on Sundays this year.
In other news... I wonder if I have either stomach flu or food poisoning. I've had the runs almost nonstop since this afternoon, and earlier tonight I decided to go jogging but a workout of only half an hour left me completely drained... very unusual since I've been able to go at least 45 minutes without feeling winded. At least I'm not throwing up, which should mean that I can still eat to keep my strength up. Last time I had serious food poisoning, which was in Korea, I could hardly eat for 3 days. And those symptoms were pretty nasty... and yes, I'll spare you those details.
Still debating about adopting a furry feline from the Humane Society... just not sure when I want to do it. I may just wait until after FC06, when I have a little more time.
