The cold I thought I had last weekend seems to have actually been from a really bad canker sore that developed after I had a dental cleaning last week.  I think they scraped the back of my mouth and it developed into a sore that I think gave me a slight fever for a day or two (yes, fever can accompany canker sores, according to webmd.com... though I didn't find this out until well after the fever went away and I was just left with the canker sore).

Seems as though there's a pretty bad fly infestation in the house.  I'm not sure if something died in one of the rooms during the recent fumigation and I just haven't noticed... but you would think that if anything had died that was attracting flies (and maggots), it would have stunk to high heaven by now, and I don't smell anything.  Put out fly strips and managed to catch 4 in one, 2 in another and 2 more in a third.  And I think there are still a couple flies "at large."

In other news, I got both Audi S4's keyfobs working again... they stopped working a few weeks ago.  Tried the quick fix in the owner's manual and it didn't work, so I took it into the dealer, fighting morning traffic... took the tech less than a minute to get it reprogrammed (in fact, it took longer to do the paperwork than to reprogram it!).

Looking from the customer service window I noticed that the tech didn't use any special equipment...  so when I got home, I did a google search for how to reprogram the keyfob... and found the following (in audiforums.com):

=====

The following instructions are to reprogram your switchblade key fob.

1. Take a spare key and insert it into the ignition. Turn it one click forward.

2. Roll down your window just in case. Step outside the car, and lock the car with a second key.

3. With your second key fob press the unlock button. The lights should flash.

4. Now lock the car with the key fob, and then unlock it.

5. Remove the key from the lock and the key from the ignition, and try it's function.

=====

I suspect that the tech did the above procedure to reprogram the keyfobs.

At least the good news is that the dealer waived the labor charge for reprogramming the fob, so it cost me nothing (except having to get up early and fighting traffic to get to the dealer).  But I'm not all that thrilled knowing that I could have reprogrammed the keyfob a lot sooner without having had to endure the inconvenience of locking and unlocking the door with the valet key all the time (since only the driver's side door has a keyhole)...

Oh well... at least the Narnia movie comes out tonight.  :)

And in case anyone's wondering, I've taken leave from yesterday (7 Dec) through tomorrow (9 Dec)...
