(no subject)

Had the apartment cleaned and turned over the keys on Tuesday. Never did get to see that cat again, but I'm pretty sure it'll be fine. Would have been nice to have given it a farewell scritching though.

For the rest of my time here, I'm staying at my mom's place... sort of house-sitting since my mom and my sister are away on a 10-day interisland cruise. I would have gone, but I've got WAAAAYYY too much stuff to do between now and the time I leave... I don't think I'll be able to really relax until after I do my final outprocessing next Friday.

Tomorrow I'm shipping the car, so first thing in the morning I plan to get the car's oil changed, fluids checked and topped off, transmission serviced and all joints lubed. Then I plan to get the car washed, inside AND outside, as the shipping company requires that the car be clean in and out before it gets accepted for shipping.

Once I get the car shipped, I plan to sort my stuff, decide what I want to/can mail to myself, then send it out. This way I won't end up paying tons of $$$ for excess baggage.

I already know I'm going to miss Hawaii. A lot. And I'll also miss all the fur-iends I have here, but I think that goes without saying. Still, it'll be a nice adventure to be somewhere new, and I can always return for a visit.

I'm debating if I want to eventually retire back here, but I think I would. There's really no place like home, and I definitely wouldn't mind having others visit, especially because it would be my turf...
