Went and saw "Kill Bill vol 2" earlier today. Good movie, or at least I thought it was. Best way to describe it without spoiling it is that it's a combination of 1950s B&W films and kung fu movies. Basic plot is that this one is a continuation of "Kill Bill vol 1", which saw Uma Thurman become a rather nasty bitch out for blood -- and revenge -- after Bill, the leader of her assassins' group, shot her on her wedding day.

"Kill Bill vol 2" isn't as violent as "Kill Bill vol 1" but it's still pretty action-packed. Big lesson I learned from this is that you do NOT want to piss off Uma Thurman if she's a bitch out for blood.... or you WILL be sorry. I'll leave it at that... hopefully no spoilers on this one. :)

In other news: I did a web search on holistic/alternative breast cancer treatments.... plan to give my mom the info. I'm not sure how much longer she'll be able to hold out... she's holding her own now just fine, but I know that when I see her at home she's physically getting weaker. Not that she's lost her independence, but it's hard to say how much longer she'll be able to hold out.

Strangely enough, though, I'm almost at peace.... at least at the time I write this. It's been almost a year (Thursday it'll be a year) since my dad passed away, but perhaps the knowledge that he went quickly and with little suffering, other than having been on oxygen, made it easier for me to temper that blow. I can only hope that when I pass away -- hopefully not for quite some time -- that it'll be just as quick, or at least just as painless.

I think perhaps I can also take some comfort in the words here: http://www.enewhope.org/sermon/notes.php?action=view&id=131. I don't know if my dad was a Christian when he died, though it appeared that way.

Oh, and btw, in case anyone thinks I'm depressed or angsty, I'm not.... just see my entry below. :)
