Jan. 3rd, 2004 11:31 pmI think I may be improving on my flight simming...
Tried several visual flight approaches and actually managed to land on the runways at Honolulu and Kauai... runways that don't have instrument approaches. Still need to work on coming in a bit more smoothly vertically though... I still tend to land on the runways harder than I'd like, and slightly to the left of the runway centerline -- ideally it should be on the centerline itself.
Still, that's way better than what I used to do when trying to land visually... I'd end up anywhere from 5 to 10 feet on either side of the runway, but not landing on the runway itself. I suspect that with practice I'll probably get better at landing where I want to, the way I want to.
It'll still take me a while before I get certified for real-life flying, but at least I'm getting the hang of the sim part...
