Memorial & burial
May. 7th, 2003 12:34 amBuried my father yesterday (as I write this)... a short, solemn ceremony in which his cremated remains were placed in a grave and the grave filled in. From what I understand, the headstone won't be placed on the grave until it's ready in a couple of months.
Sunday was the memorial service... that followed another memorial service on Saturday that I attended. That was of a former co-worker who passed away of pancreatic cancer on Good Friday, or about 4 days before my dad passed away.
Given how many deaths I've seen over the past month that have affected me directly or indirectly, I'm inclined to believe that April was a bad month overall. I'm hoping May will turn out to be a much better month.
As far as any of my travel plans this summer, however, they're all up in the air. I'd say right now chances are pretty good that I won't be doing any travelling this summer.
