Posting this for the benefit of my LJ friends who aren't on Facebook...

There's a meme going around on Facebook post-election that I wanted to reshare on here.  This year's election polarized the country to where family members and good friends were effectively at war with each other. What follows is my FB post, along with its accompanying meme:

I have posted in the past that I don't unfriend people based on their beliefs, and by "beliefs" I mean political, religious, or otherwise. Not only does that degrade democracy and free thinking, but if you always surround yourself with "yes people" your perspective will get skewed.

FWIW, I did not vote for DT. Nor did I vote for HRC. I actually decided to abstain for the POTUS office on the ballot, but I did so knowing full well what that would imply. I normally don't advocate abstaining, but after weighing my options I decided I'd rather deal with being chastised for not voting than lambasted for voting for either DT or HRC. And let me tell you, it's a very unenviable place to be in.
